When something is seen in a completely new light, it’s usually just a figure of speech. This project puts a literal spin on the saying. Large windows and glass doors transport the picturesque ambience of the wild garden directly into our client’s home. Before, the kitchen and living room were isolated rooms. Now there is more room for light. A smooth transition – from kitchen to dining table and living room – allows the family to spend their time together.
The new kitchen island is made of Ceppo stone, the table top is solid oak. Impressive and robust. Heavy materials meet filigree lightness. The table top is supported by an elegant V-base made of black steel. The same black steel creates an almost floating shelf above the massive kitchen island. A previously playfully tiled stove is now unobtrusively and precisely bricked up – the bookshelf and furnishings are simple and elegant.
Improving residents’ quality of life does not always require a gut renovation. Good interior design sees the quality in the circumstances – for a sustainable and ecological approach to belongings and the environment.
