In this bright space with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, open to the garden and the adjacent rooms, this kitchen and dining area forms a central place in the house. Matt lacquered, the surfaces of the kitchen furniture doors remain unobtrusive. The flush-fitting joint in brass divides the simple carcasses and sets off the upper part of the island sublimely – the flanks conceal the drawers and, like the worktop, are finished in London grey stone, whose fine structure harmonises favourably with the careful lighting architecture.
This kitchen has a subtle and noble effect on the observer thanks to its subdued accents – the details are neatly fitted with craftsmanship, high-quality wood even in the drawers, matt surface, brass and stone in London grey.
The kitchen and the lighting are from Eham – and the floor: narrow oak tiles are laid on the floor in an orderly pattern at a 90-degree angle for a classic herringbone parquet. Particularly appealing is the shimmering of the wood in varying degrees of brightness, depending on the angle of light.
