What is B Corp?

B Corp is a prestigious certification in the field of holistic sustainability. Over an extended process, we voluntarily assessed how well we perform as a company in various areas: How much do we contribute to society? How responsibly do our suppliers operate and how engaged are we in our community? How well do we care for our customers and employees? What measures do we take to protect the environment? And how transparent is our corporate governance?

Together, better

The B Corp certification affirms our commitment to positively impact society and the environment. We engage in various areas: We regularly donate fixed amounts to local and international projects, whose progress we will soon transparently display on our website. 80% of our solid wood, our largest raw material item, is sourced regionally within 322 km from long-term partners. We meticulously document its origin and strengthen the values of our supply chain through a specific code of conduct.

We have delved deeper into the chain and have made project-specific details of origin more traceable – wood origin, logging method, distance – to solidify our purchasing policies. Since 2020, we have reduced our CO2 emissions from 92 tons to 11 tons by switching to green electricity and expanding our fleet with electric vehicles. From 2021 to 2022, we managed to reduce per capita emissions by 35%. Additionally, we fully offset the emissions of our site in 2022.

This year, we will be commissioning the greywater systems in our new building and have installed 10 new EV charging points. We aim to further improve our materials and processes, currently developing a material certificate with various criteria and seeking better alternatives where necessary for the future. For 2025, we plan to introduce water-based paints and transition our second plant to renewable energies. We have formulated our company code of conduct, which serves as a tool to help us set and achieve goals and measures across all areas, leading to continuous improvement. Our employee handbook is a reference for all staff, promoting transparency.

These initiatives demonstrate our commitment not only to succeed as a company but also to have a positive impact on the world around us. The B Corp certification validates our dedication to these goals.
